Grožnjan-Grisignana, a small Istrian town of great cultural significance, is situated on a hill above the Mirna River valley. The area of Grožnjan is a typical Mediterranean ambience, dominated by olive groves and vineyards. The medieval town core has retained its original appearance to the present day. Every year during the summer months, Grožnjan streets and squares are transformed into a truly artistic oasis - art, music, dance and drama workshops are organised; many artists exhibit their works in the streets that become a grand stage where jazz and classical music, guitars and violins alternate... Due to many cultural and sports activities, Grožnjan leads a very intense and interesting life during summertime. A little less than 200 residents are permanently inhabited in Grožnjan, and the distance from the sea is only about fifteen kilometres.
