The town of Bale, located on the western coast of Istria, between Rovinj, Vodnjan, Kanfanar and Svetvinčenat, boasts natural beauties and rich cultural and architectural heritage. Roman fort Castrum Vallis has become a fortified town during the Middle Ages, and is nowadays the municipal centre with approximately 900 residents, with olive groves, pastures, forests in which the remnants of old buildings, Roman roads, cisterns, wells, Roman villas, oil presses, churches can still be seen... Pebble beaches and clear waters attract many swimmers to San Polo and Colone coves, 6 km removed from the centre of Bale.
